{"id":317,"date":"2026-09-28T12:32:45","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T11:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pomsmentorship.org\/?p=317"},"modified":"2026-09-28T12:32:45","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T11:32:45","slug":"poms-launches-online-grant-development-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pomsmentorship.org\/?p=317","title":{"rendered":"POMS launches Online Grant Development Course"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Plowright One Health Mentoring Scheme (POMS) has launched its\u00a0<strong>Online Grant Development Course,<\/strong> bringing together 25 early-career researchers across six teams to develop collaborative research proposals addressing interdisciplinary One\u00a0Health challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Running from&nbsp;<strong>September to November 2026<\/strong>, the eight-week course builds on the grant development workshop held at ILRI in Nairobi earlier this year. It provides participants with a structured opportunity to develop and test their ideas through team working, peer and mentor support, targeted learning and written feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The six teams are developing proposals across a diverse range of research areas, including computational immunology, liver fluke disease mapping in Africa, fish vaccine development, African swine fever disease and recovery, antimicrobial resistance, and aerial disease risk assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the course, teams will work together independently and take part in three live sessions, including a work-in-progress session and a final mock funding panel. POMS mentors will provide guidance and feedback as proposals develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course aims to strengthen participants\u2019 practical grant-development skills while encouraging teams to adopt a peer-led approach, organising themselves independently and seeking out resources, expertise and support from across the POMS network.
